SimpleMarkup #151 – Unexpected Duties

Happy Wednesday! I hope wherever you are, you’re safe and healthy. This week has been flying by for me, and I’m getting a lot done while also still managing to get back into working out. I’ve now done ten days in a row of workouts, and hopefully after another week or two, I’ll have built up a good habit. It’s been way too easy to just say “screw it” in 2020, but I need to stop that already.

This week’s comic is inspired by a couple of inquiries I received recently, where things were looking pretty normal… until the laundry list of expectations came out. That’s when I immediately bowed out, because as a freelance editor, when someone expects you to do the job of, well, everyone at a publishing house, that’s just not going to end well.

I do get it, though. Everyone has dreams. I have them too. I’m just not in the business of guaranteeing them. Freelance editors aren’t marketers or publishers!

Have a great rest of your week.
