SimpleMarkup #112 – The Editor Behind the Curtain

Happy Halloween! The big day is tomorrow, and I have a few things I have to get started on today, such as bleaching my hair, baking sugar cookies, and baking cupcakes. I have my menu drawn up, and as usual, it’s stupidly too big.

Main Dishes:

  • Hot Dog Mummies
  • Chili with Toxic Rice
  • Pizza Skulls

Sides:

  • Guacamole and Chips
  • Spooky Salad
  • Intestine Mac & Cheese

Appetizers:

  • Rotten Deviled Eggs

Desserts:

  • Pumpkin Rice Krispies
  • Spiderweb Pumpkin Roll
  • Creepy Sugar Cookies
  • Witch’s Caramel Apples
  • Monster Cupcakes
  • Jell-O Worms
  • Haunted Gingerbread House

And this is the cut-down version! If I had to guess what will end up not being made, it’s the Spiderweb Pumpkin Roll, even though I really wanted to do that one. My mom is making the salad and Jell-O worms.

This week’s SimpleMarkup has Edie dressed up as two different witches from the totally-not-real movie The Editor of Au (for those not sure what that means, “Au” is the common term editors use to address the author).

I had to go verify whether Glinda is the Good Witch of the North or the South, and it turns out it depends. She’s the Good Witch of the South in the books, but she’s the Good Witch of the North from the 1939 movie. I ended up going with North since her costume is drawn after the movie Glinda.
