Episode 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones began with the introduction of a new “character” in the form of Bran’s three-eyed crow. For book fans, this is the start of Bran’s journey. For show fans, I’m sure the damn bird was just creepy as hell.
Was there ever an hour of television so full of agonizing farewells as last week’s episode of Game of Thrones? Jon in particular had a harsh set of goodbyes to give. From his gifting of Needle to his plea to Bran to wake up to Ned’s quivering face as Jon asked about his mother, it was almost too much to bear.
After waiting with legions of fans for years for George RR Martin to finish A Dance with Dragons, it was nice to have something else to look forward to for once. Something that would probably happen on time and be reliable because, well, it’s HBO. You know HBO can deliver.
It was hard to only get information from George’s non-blog because frankly, all I could think was, “SHOULDN’T YOU BE WRITING?!?!”
